Chaplain (Rear Admiral) Margaret Grun Kibben, USN, is a Presbyterian minister currently serving as the 26th Chief of Chaplains of the United States Navy. Formerly the 18th Chaplain of the United States Marine Corps (CHMC) and the Deputy Chief of Chaplains of the United States Navy, Admiral Kibben was the first female to hold each office.〔(www.marines.mil ), retrieved May 12, 2011.〕 〔(marinesmagazine ), retrieved May 13, 2011.〕 She was sworn in as Chief of Navy Chaplains on August 1, 2014 as the first female to serve as such.〔(), retrieved August 5,, 2014.〕 ==Education== A native of Warrington, Pennsylvania, Rear Admiral Kibben entered active duty in the U.S. Navy in 1986 following studies for a bachelor’s degree from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. She received both her Masters of Divinity and her Doctor of Ministry degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey. She holds a Masters degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Kibben was a senior fellow at the United States Institute of Peace.
